There is nothing any better than having a new baby in your household. Everyone loves to hold and cuddle the new addition. And everyone loves that new baby smell. What people do not love is the smell of spit up and drool. Also at the top of the do not love list is extra laundry due to having to change outfits unnecessarily. Many outfit changes can be avoided by having the baby wear a bib.

Bibs are great for when you are feeding the baby either a bottle or baby food. They will help to keep any stray wetness from the bottle from seeping onto the clothing. If you are feeding your baby food, bibs will help you to keep the food that is pushed out of their mouths off of their cute outfits.

Once your baby is about two to three months old teething bibs will start to be very helpful. Young babies can show all the signs of teething months in advance of their teeth actually breaking through the gum line. One of the worst things about teething is all the excess drool that they will produce. Teething bibs will serve as the protective layer between the mouth and the outfit that your baby is wearing.

Many people do not realize how much drool a baby can produce. If the drool is not contained, your baby will most likely drench the front of their outfit. If your baby likes to chew while they are sitting, then drool production will also increase. It is not only uncomfortable for a baby to sit with wet cloths on, but it can also cause a rash if the wetness is left there long enough.

Teething bibs are the solution to this problem. Bibs today come in a variety of styles and colors. It is very easy to find one that will match just about any outfit your baby may be wearing. It is much easier to change a bib multiple times a day than to change your baby’s cloths that many times. This will reduce the size of your dirty laundry.

You might be wondering what makes teething bibs so special? The answer is that the bibs usually will have a waterproof layer inside them. Some bibs will have that waterproof layer exposed as the back of the bib, while others will have the waterproof layer hidden in between two layers of fabric. Which style you choose is a personal choice, as both designs work equally well. The fabric covered bibs usually tend to irritate the least amount.

As you can see, a good investment would be a teething bib. Not only can you use it during feeding time, but it can also serve double duty when your baby starts to teethe. Remember teething signs may appear as early as two months of age. The first tooth may be months in the making. Once it appears many more are sure to follow. Have fun picking out bibs to match all the outfits that you have for your baby.
